Landscape Design for Biodiversity Net Gain
We are a Landscape Institute–registered practice with extensive expertise in creating biodiverse, people-centred landscapes. Working collaboratively with the wider design team, we develop pragmatic, well-considered solutions that deliver beautiful, sustainable places.

Our team is highly experienced in national and local planning policy, with a strong track record in delivering Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), Urban Greening Factor (UGF), play provision, SuDS strategies, Building with Nature principles, and internal greening. We interpret policy requirements at both national and local levels and embed them into robust, policy-compliant design strategies from the earliest stages of the project.

We operate across a broad range of sectors and scales, including residential development, education, utilities, healthcare, public realm, infrastructure, and strategic masterplanning.

TMA supports projects through to completion, providing tender and construction packages, and contributing to BREEAM and CDM requirements. We also deliver BIM-compliant landscape design, producing coordinated, data-rich models.

TMA Environmental Consultants were appointed to create a landscape-led strategy for the proposed Buckhurst Hill SEND School and associated enabling residential development. The strategy responds to the site’s sensitive Green Belt location, existing landscape assets, and the specific educational, social, and ecological needs of the development.

The landscape strategy seeks to create an inclusive, high-quality and ecologically resilient environment that supports outdoor learning and wellbeing for SEND pupils, delivers attractive and comfortable residential living, strengthens green and blue infrastructure, and contributes positively to the wider landscape and community.
