Natural Capital
Natural Capital Strategy & Nature-Positive Land Management
Natural capital is a fundamental asset that underpins land use, performance, and long-term value. We support organisations and landowners in measuring, managing, and enhancing their natural assets through comprehensive biodiversity audits, natural capital stock assessments, ecosystem services mapping and valuation, and the creation of detailed natural asset registers.

By quantifying metrics such as biodiversity units, ecosystem service provision, and overall natural capital value, we demonstrate the measurable benefits delivered by green infrastructure, enabling landowners to make informed decisions and strengthen asset performance.

We turn evidence into action through natural capital opportunity mapping, clear strategies and delivery roadmaps, nature-positive frameworks, and the design of habitat creation, restoration, and nature-based solutions that generate tangible environmental and commercial returns.

TMA have provided arboricultural services to the Cambridge University Botanical Gardens for a number of years, including cyclical tree risk and condition surveys of the entire tree collection at the garden, specialist testing such as sonic tomography, resistance drilling and dynamic load stability testing. We have also provided advice in regard to proposed research projects using the tree collection within the gardens, and have delivered tree risk training to the apprentice gardeners under placement at the gardens as part of their level 3 horticultural studies. Recently, planned work to a tree with potential roost features required bat inspections, which TMA ecologists were able to facilitate.
